I have to disaggree. We have so many members now I think every section on the forum has it's place. Apart from Stans Swap Shop maybe.

Not overly fussed. This is quite a healthy forum (sufficient activity each day). One thing that gets my goat is that two sections referencing Our Relations (Denker's Beer Garden and The Periwinkle Gazette) are concurrent, but I'm finicky like that

Our Gang have a subsection. UK Sons I've met rarely, if ever, mention Our Gang. Seems a bit strange for them to have a section unless Our Gang films are more popular overseas than in the UK. Perhaps it should be expanded to include the Chase-meister. Call it The Roach Lot or summat Wink

The sons of the desert offically adopted the 'our gang' series some years ago so we felt it only appropropriate to have an 'our gang' section on the forum. I do agree that Our Gang is more popular overseas than it is in the UK, however we do have many overseas members.

I like it the way it is. If you're searching for something you don't have to look through the whole forum. Of course that means we should post in the right section Wink

That happens. It would be better to look around first if there is an identical thread somewhere else instead of creating a new one. But the forum is growing and that makes it nearly impossible to know about everything existing, especially for new members. When you find a similar thread somewhere else, feel free to post a link that other members can find it, too.

Think you misunderstood me there. I meant that the section names both refer to Our Relations ("Denkers Beer Garden" and "Periwinkle" Gazette).

I disagree. It's good as it is. Sure we have to search once in a while but with the expansion of the forum that's inevitable.

If a duplicate topic is created then we the mods are here to merge these threads together.

Regarding the 2 categories themed from Our Relations. The category names are not that important really. It's the content that matters and the category names we have chosen (after long thought) seem to fit the topics well in my opinion.

What does everyone else think?

The bottom line is, as the forum grows, so will the topics. That's the whole point of the forum being a database. There can never be too much info in a database. If one is having trouble locating a topic, then one can use the search button to locate it. Smile

That's common occurrance. There will be a topic that goes on for a couple of pages all about some subject, such as the Boys appearing in advertizements, and then someone else will start a whole new topic about the very same thing. If it's possible (and I know that the moderators are probably quite busy enough already keeping a 30,000+ post Forum running), maybe sometimes a number of topics which are about the same thing could be merged together, in order to make things easier to find. Just a thought, anyway.

It seems that it's good for the L+H Forum to have the number of subjects that it has. I suppose that "Regular Tent Meetings" could be combined with "Worldwide Events", and the 2 subjects about Our Gang could be combined, too, but it's OK the way they are.

I personally think we have a good balance, but that doesn't mean we can't change. But if it aint broke.

If one section is not used for a while, it doesn't really matter. I would rather have it so its easy to find a post.

Re: similar threads, we try to catch the ones we can, but if others are brought to our attention we can look at merging those too.

I think "Denker's Beer Garden" should be called "The Rainbow Club" or summat so that another film's referenced in the categories instead of the same film being referenced twice. Or, by the same token, "Come Home Nanny. All Is Forgiven" instead of "The Periwinkle Gazette" Razz
