Thanks Lucy. But 'tis I who should be congratulating you. Glad to see you have your very own art thread. Interestingly I was wondering earlier if you were thinking of doing a Norman drawing and saw on your thread that a price was TBA. Have you picked a photo yet?

I hope you can keep doing all these wonderful drawings for ever. Thanks for sharing!

Mike

Thankyou Mike- it's very kind of you. I am drawing a picture of Norman, its the next on my list- Ross will be getting a copy when it's completed for Norman to sign for me- and of course I'll be giving one to the great man himself! -

this is the picture I've decided on- Razz

As for drawing forever....... well that's what I've got planned....... just need more people to buy them! Wink Laughing

Great! That's the classic picture I was remembering. Perfect! I'm sure Sir Norman will love it!!! ... and Sir Ross too Laughing

I know what you mean about people buying 'em. I'm the same way with me puppets. As long as people can pay properly for 'em I can make 'em.

Good luck with all that. When I can save enough pennies (it's almost double in dollars) I'll be after you for one.

Thanks Lucy and take care,

Mike

Have you ever made yourself or anyone else Laurel & Hardy puppets Mike?

in fact... do the whole cast and devise a Laurel and Hardy puppet sketch. That would be excellent. When I win the lottery I'll fund it Very Happy

...seriously though, have you ever made puppets of Stan and Ollie?

He hee.. I've thought about making some over the years. However, my very great friend Geoff in England made some really nice marionettes a few years ago. Babe even has a string to twiddle his tie. I'm trying to think of a way to use them in the documentary. Although they are a lot more sophisticated, they remind me a little of the ones in the Stan home movie...

Don't say I didn't warn ya Lucy Laughing

Oh and yes Neil, Michael Bentine was a dear man and extremely brilliant. Very undervalued and I do miss him terribly. It was wonderful to get to know him towards the end of his life socially. I could listen to him for hours. We were going to make some new Bumblies puppets for a new show.

Anyway, hopefully there will be Sir Norman progress reports on this thread as they come in. Very Happy

More news on Sir Norman

Norman to enter old folks home
Sir Norman Wisdom has decided to move to an old folk's home! The 91-year-old comic actor, who appeared in Coronation Street just last year, will become a resident of the Brinsworth House in Twickenham London, a special home for elderly showbiz types. Executive administrator Peter Elliot told The Sun: "He's not in ill health - he just wants to be waited on." Norman will be in good company at the home as other celebrity residents include ex DJ Alan 'Fluff' Freeman and Man About The House star Richard O'Sullivan.

Regards.

There was an article about this place not so long ago in one of the broadsheets. By all accounts it's supposed to be a nice place. Hope Norman enjoys his retirment.
