wow what a day. I too had a fantastic (although hectic) time in Ulverston and mets loads of people I had only seen pics of up until now. It was a glorius sunny day and the event was quite emotional, I'm sure I wasn't the only person there among the 2000 fans there who were left with a lump in the throat and feeling very proud of the sons for this wonderful achievement. Sorry our paths didn't cross Neil. Most of the time I had my head stuck behind the camcorder. I was privelaged to be given a spot right at the front of the statue along with the press so I could film the reveal. I am currently uploading part 1 (the arrival of Ken Dodd, the reveal and highlights of the speeches). After that I will upload the footage of some of the interviews I got including Mark (Bill Cubins grandson), 91 year old Mabel Radcliffe who lives in Stans house in Argyll street and a few sons. Watch this space for the link. Hunter said he saw you in the crowd John but I wasn't with him at the time. I did bump into Dean and Willie though.

I am totally still on a high. More later ;)

Here are some stills from the footage you will see later today...

Although there was some glare from the sun at parts the footage turned out pretty good.

Hi John, I was running around with my camera so I didn't see you, but Hunter did. He was with my friend Michelle while I was in the press area right at the front of the statue, then we went round to the museum. We had to head home about 6pm but had a great time.

Just re-uploaded the footage I took (see link in my previous post) if you haven't seen it yet.

Neil I can't believe we were so close to each other and I never saw you, although in looking at that photo of you with the statue no wonder I didn't notice you. Looks like you were in disguise haha. Great pics.

More footage to come.. watch this space!
